The Honorable Reverend Gwendolyn R. McNeil

The Honorable Reverend Gwendolyn R. McNeil, a native of Latta, South Carolina, currently resides in Andrews, South Carolina. She was married to the late Reverend William J. McNeil, a pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Reverend McNeil is a born-again, spirit-filled believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This Christian woman was nurtured and mentored by her family, and the Weston Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church family, and many other godly women in the community. She was elected and ordained an itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church on August 30, 2001. She is the pastor of St. Michael African Methodist Episcopal Church, Georgetown, South Carolina.
Reverend McNeil has received numerous professional and c1v1c awards for exemplary performance and dedicated service. She is a member of the Georgetown County First Steps Board and is a founding member of the Andrews Area Red Cross Christmas Dinner committee. She is the judicial representative on the South Carolina Summary Court Judges Association for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.
Her formal educational background includes the following: Honor Graduate- Latta High School, Latta; Cum Laude Graduate- South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Counselor Education; Graduate - Francis Marion University, Florence, South Carolina with a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling. Also, she has completed post-graduate studies at several other colleges and universities around the State.
She worked over thirty-four (34) years in the field of education. Presently, she is employed by the county of Georgetown as a Summary Court Judge. Reverend McNeil is the first African American female to hold this position in Georgetown County.
Her favorite activities include: studying, preaching, and teaching the Word of God and being an encourager in the Body of Christ through a Correspondence Ministry she established: "Sending Hope."
Additionally, Reverend McNeil loves spending time with her family and enjoys reading and traveling, too.
